Google Voice Mobile (GV Mobile) is the perfect iPhone companion app for Google Voice. But wait…you can’t get it anymore? Nice move, Apple.
Luckily, I got my copy of GV Mobile before Apple banned it from the App Store. Their claim: GV Mobile duplicates existing phone functionality. Well, so does the Skype app. What’s the real reason, Apple? This is lame.

the skype app, however, only runs on wi-fi. the google voice app, however, runs off the normal cell towers.
there’s a slight difference, but the difference is still there.

Good point. But, while the GV Mobile app does work over 3G, if you make calls using it, you still use your AT&T minutes. So, if anything, it would make sense to allow GV Mobile. This one really smells funny. I can see why the FCC is asking Apple and AT&T a lot of questions about this one.
