The Coca Cola Freestyle Jet : Amazing high-tech vending machine.
Photography: How to pick a camera.
- How do you want to use the camera? Snap shots? Quick “snaps?” or more professional? Sports? (indoor/night?)
- How much control do you want to have?
- Pay no attention to “gimmicks” like the “smile finder” features. Bah, we can do that!
- Shopping tip:
- Decide what category/type camera you want.
- Take your own memory card into the store
- Put your card each of the cameras you are considering.
- Take a series of pictures (close up, zoom across the store, people pictures) with each camera.
- Take the pictures home, and using your favorite photo viewer (I recommend Picasa) decide which pictures have the best clarity resolution and color balance.
- Look at the EXIF information for the photos you like, and see which camera(s) those were.
- THAT is your decision: The best camera for YOU
- Be sure to visit DPReview.com for additional information about the cameras you are interested in.

PICKS OF THE WEEK (software/hardware?):
Steve’s Pick: Kodak Zi8 Kodak Zi8 digital HD video recorder
- Friend bought it
- GREAT video and when combined with an external mic (it has a jack) a powerful combo.
- So nice his daughter wanted to take it–instead of a Flip that she had access to.
- Weakness? Digital zoom (always a weakness)
- small memory card comes with it, but it is SD so buy a big one!
Josh’s Pick : Connectify
- This allows you to make your Windows 7 PC into a hotspot
- The technology was originally slated to be included in the GA version of Win 7 but Microsoft scrapped it but left the code still in.. Someone finished it off
Tony’s Pick: SendOutCards.com
- Friend sent me a card using it
- I often forget to buy cards for holidays/occasions
- SOC allows you to go online and send physical cards easily.
- You can even send them your handwriting, and it becomes a font.
- Also opportunity to make $ if you choose to go that route.
